“When I arrived for my first consultation visit I was experiencing severe sciatica pain due to a herniated disk and I was skeptical about the program being offered. Dr. Shook took the time to review all my options and treatment plans available. After my trial spinal decompression, I experienced some relief and so I decided to schedule more treatments. This was the best decision for me. My treatment plan is still ongoing but much less frequent. I am now experiencing little to no pain. My best advice to anyone is to show yourself the grace and compassion you need to allow your body the time it needs to heal. It takes time as there is no magic number of treatments nor is there a quick fix without needles or surgery. You will experience more relief upon each visit. Trust me, I’m no longer a skeptic, I am now a believer of the transformative power of this pain relief technique and would recommend Dr Shook and her qualified compassionate staff to anyone.”

“When I met Dr. April Shook and her team I was in excruciating pain. Absolutely no way to get comfortable- sitting, standing, sleeping, nothing relieved the pain. She developed a plan for my back and I listened and did everything she suggested. To make the situation worse was that I was changing jobs and was in a terrible time crunch to be able to function while starting my new job. “I would highly recommend Gulf Coast Functional Pain Relief. I came in with severe issues, shock wave therapy really did wonders for my back and hips. Doctor Shook was very helpful, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. At first, I was in pain during sessions but after a few more sessions I was feeling better and better, I truly know that it works! Recovery was a little painful and uncomfortable at times, but that is the process of healing. Doctor Shook cared about my shoulders that she was working on and wanted to see if there are any underlying issues that I might be having, because I had this for 4 years or more. She referred me to get an MRI scan and gracefully wrote a referral to my Primary Doctor. Also, she gave me a workout sheet for my shoulders and hips that I can use to work on from home. “100%. Bravo to April Shook and Shockwave technology. After weeks of physical therapy from an MCL injury I was only at 80% stability and strength in my knee. The therapy that April used to send healing frequencies to the tendons and tissues in my knee made all the difference.
